RRTRACKS GUIDE

For Virtual Events

This guide will help you with how to connect your account to an event and also how to import your activities from the RRTracks app or import your activities from third party app like Strava or Garmin Connect.

Note: The numbers, name, event on the screenshots or videos are for illustrative purposes only and may be different from the final app.

Getting Started

There are two methods for claiming your profile:

Through "Connect & Claim" email

By searching your name in the app

A. Claiming through “Connect & Claim” email

A-01. Download

Download the Road Running Tracks (RRTracks) App via your Google Play Store or App Store.

Type ‘Road Running Tracks’ in Play Store or App Store, and click search.

A-02. Email is sent

An email will be sent to claim your profile after your registration is confirmed. 

Press the “Connect & Claim Profile” button to continue. This must be done via your mobile device, it will not work on computer/laptop.

A-03. Finish the claim

Click the ‘FINISH CLAIM’ button
inside the app to continue.

If you have not installed the app,
please download the app first

A-04. Allow notifications

Tap ‘OK’ to continue

Tap ‘Allow’ to allow RRTracks to send push notifications and messages.

You can turn off this feature later if you change your mind.

A-05. Profile is claimed

A “Congratulations” pop up message will show if you are succeeded in claiming the profile.

Tap ‘OK’ to continue.

If not,  please make sure the email address of your registration for the event and of your account is the same.

A-06. Profile information

In the profile page, your name and email address will be displayed at the top.
Click to edit your personal info and put profile photo.

You can also set some settings and the privacy as your preferences.

A-07. Setting your app

Click ‘Back’ to set some app setting.

Please check the box of Location Service and Activity/Motion to make sure your run is recorded through your phone’s GPS. If you not give the permission, RRTracks will not record your run.

Press ‘OK’ for the app to access.

And choose ‘Allow While Using App’.

B. Claiming through the RRTracks app

B-01. Claim profile from the app

Open the app.

Once it was open, you can select the event that you registered.

If you have not installed the app, please download the app first.

B-02. Search your name

In the “Search” field, please enter your full name.

Please make sure it is the correct name and correct category.

Once you find your name, click on your profile.

 

B-03. Claim your profile

Please check the name of the event, your full name, and category.

If they are already correct, click on the “Claim This Profile” button.

B-04. Verify your profile

Please make sure it is your correct profile.

Then tick the checkbox to continue.

B-05. Enter email address

Please enter your correct email address that is used for registering the event.

B-06. Confirm your profile

If you enter the correct email address, your profile will be confirmed.

And an email will be sent to your email address. Please check your Inbox.

C. Import activity

C-01. Import activity

You can choose to use your sport watch instead of running with RRTracks installed on your phone.

You need a Strava account or a Garmin Connect account. And make sure your sport watch already connected to Strava/Garmin Connect account.

From your account page, click Import Activity.

C-02. Choose Strava or Garmin Connect

Please choose which import method you would like to choose: Strava or Garmin Connect.

You can connect to either account or to both accounts.

C-03. Strava import

Please follow these steps:

  • Click ‘I accept
  • Sign in to your Strava account
  • Make sure you tick both of the tick boxes: (1) View data about your private activities and (2) Upload your activities from Road Running Tracks to Strava. Otherwise your running data will not be imported.
  • Click ‘Authorize

C-04. Garmin Connect import

Please follow these steps:

  • Click ‘I accept
  • Sign in to your Garmin account
  • Read the information then click ‘Save” and ‘Agree‘.
  • Read the message and click ‘OK‘.

C-05. Account connected

If the Strava/Garmin Connect account is properly connected, their respective icons will be shown in your profile name’s box.

C-06. Running schedule

Please make sure your running start in the designated time, start at 5:00 (local time) and finish at 1pm (local time).

If you run outside that time range, your run will not be recorded and you will be disqualified.

D. Practice race

D-01. About practice race

Before the virtual event, you can try and practice your run with the app by accessing the “Practice Race” feature. This feature is not the actual event.

You can run as many practice races as you want. Your run during Practice Race will not be recorded.

With practice race, you can:

  • learn how to start and finish the app
  • make sure your running route has a good GPS coverage
  • measure how your phone battery will last during your run, especially for longer distance category like marathon or half marathon.

D-02. Start practice race

Press the green play button and the pratice race will commence right away. You can start you run.

D-03. Audio notification during km split

When you pass a km split, you will receive an audio notification about the distance you have traveled and the pace of your run.

D-04. Abandon practice race

You can abandon the practice race anytime during your run.

Just push the button STOP End Practice. The app will ask for your confirmation, push Yes, I am done.

The app will stop recording.

D-05. Finish practice race

When you completed the distance, the app will finish your run and give an audio notification.

Click Done to complete the practice race or try the practice race again.

E. On event day

E-01. Start your run on event day

Start your running between the time range of the event. Press the green button to start your run.

A 5 second countdown will be commencing before RRTracks start recording you run.

E-02. During your run

During your run, an audio notification and a push notification will be sent to your phone every one km.

E-03. Finish your run

Once you completed the distance you registered, the app will automatically finish your run.

If you run with sport watch and import your run through Strava or Garmin Connect, please make sure you add some distance of maximum 100m to anticipate for GPS error.

E-04. Leaderboard

Once you finished the run, your result will automatically displayed in the category leaderboard.

You can view your run in the Leaderboard tab inside the app. 

E-05. Download e-certificate

After you complete your run using the app or after you import your run through Strava, a finisher e-certificate will be automatically available on the app.

Go to the event, then click your run. Click badge to view your e-certificate and then download your e-certificate.
